GB Domestic Rules

GB Domestic Rules apply to most journeys that are not in scope of EU driving rules.

Exemptions are:

  • Armed Forces, Police and Fire Brigade
  • driving constantly off public road
  • private diving

Rules are:

Driving is limited to 10 hours a day

Duty time is limited to 11 in 24 hour period

Records of activities must be kept by using a log book.

Please note that on international journeys domestic rules of relevant countries must be observed and are available on the embassy web sites.
